Have you considered including screw holes on the sides of the end caps to reduce the chances of blow outs? This would mean the silicon could be used as a gasket instead of as a glue and gasket.

Just an idea. add a tab on the top of your cap for a self tapping screw to help secure it to the pipe.

For those that may not have a 3d printer, Mike VanDuzee has developed end caps that you make by casting resin in a mold. Only works with american style downspouts. He has a youtube channel.

I'm not sure if you've figured this out yet, but if you print in ASA or ABS (ASA is more UV resistant), you can use an ABS to PVC glue and glue the parts directly to PVC pipe. Additionally, you can wick some acetone into the pieces to solvent welt the layers together and make them water tight.
