Can I ask, why would this need to be done instead of boiling the water away? Would that be the same result?

Ok you used zinc powder to precipitate gold AND other metals from cyanide. Now if you soak the zinc in warm nitric and water, does it remove everything and leave your gold? Which is better zinc or activated carbon?

I added 2 times the amount of gold in zinc powder, I heated and stirred my potassium cyanide solution for 10 minutes and after a night of rest the zinc deposit is well at the bottom but no gold precipitation ... the powder is only gray and my solution is still transparent.. did I miss something?

As long as all I do is filter off the cyanide solution from cons. Can I put same cyanide solution on next batch of cons? I just started using cyanide. 5-6 grams per liter of water, Ph 11, temp 60-70 F, mix and air 4 days. Does warm or hot work better and shorter time? Zinc powder, then filter, rinse good with hot water, then into hot HCl, filter rine hot water, then nitric/water hot, filter rinse then into AR.

I have about 40 litres of pregnant solution reading 60ppm & that's about 2.4 grams of gold. Any advice? Do i need to boil off some water to manageable volume or i just precipitate it as it is

Your name keeps popping up on different ways to precip gold and pgm's. I just tried SMB, nothing dropped over night, next day I added 5 grams zinc and a brown precip dropped. Tried to melt with a propane torch didnt melt. In the past I did lye drops and got heavy brown/black flakes, was told I cant melt that. Can this be melted?

Hi we tried nacn with crushed au quartz ore kept in tank for 48 hrs and passed the liquid thru zinc shavings until it changed its texture then we took shavings for acid wash first with h2so4 and then nitric acid and water after which it was further heated and evaporated what was left was 61 gms powder which we took for smelting with flux added it was heated in crucible and then poured in a cast and then solidified and crushed only to find thr was nothing pls help and guide what happend @lazersteve
