GENIUS! Elon Musk just revealed Artificial Gravity Starship 2024...
Arriving on Mars enfeebled will be at best pointless and at worst fatal!
This is a fact, not a threat.
Watching Scott Kelly struggle to walk after a year in space should be a sobering reminder to those making plans to travel to Mars. In spite of an extensive exercise regimen and the best treatment that fifty years of space medicine can muster, recovering from extended zero gravity remains a tremendous physical challenge.
So, did Elon Musk lose his mind by spending more than $ 10 billion so far to develop the Starship colonizing Mars?
Definitely not!
This is how exactly will the SpaceX Starship generate artificial gravity on long trips such as to Mars.

All they really need is a gravity mass simulator, Then you will have all the gravity you want!

the big problem is how to keep a bearing that is large enough and massive enough to handle the rotating mass of 2 or more starships properly greased in the cold vacuum of space. ALso, that bearing could not be attached to anything that seals in air pressure as those seals would fail real easily from all that friction.
Thus, there would need to be an airlock between the 2 truss sections. But, the distance between the 2 ships would be about the size of the moon.
Only real way to deal with this would be to just roll the rocket while people sleep with their feet outboard. Then during day cycle the ship would not roll.

That span is too short, everyone abord would be puking their guts out, literally. The span needs to ba a lot longer, anabeling the rotation is to be slower avoiding motion sickness for the biological life forms. There is an equation for this btw.

Rotating a space vehicle will not create artificial gravity. It will only be temporary. But finally Blue Origins dream of a cylinder rotating station goes kaput.

Hi, is this really practical?
Feels danderous

Click-bait. Nothing about Elon is "genius".

Waste of time do not bother watching. This does not seem properly "mathed", and is based on really old ideas, heck Kubrick had a variation in 2001: A Space Odyssey which came out in 1968. Not any evidence of Musky boy's genius.

Speaking of amusement park rides, like the Graviton, why can't they build something similar in a space station? It would not work for walking round but maybe the astronauts could sleep that way and get some recovery from the day's zero gravity. The Graviton has to work against earth's gravity and generate 3G, that is why it is such a big machine motor. In orbit, with no gravity and space age lubricants, I bet a motor the size of a toaster could spin the wheel to generate 1G. Once momentum begins it would not take much to keep going, unlike on Earth. Maybe they could work out and do passive computer work there as well? NASA call me. ;)

Elon Musk is a reincarnated Nikolai Tesla. Welcome back!
