My fav sports anime is the one that's focused around a short protagonist and his taller more gifted companion. They play together for the first time in highschool. They form a decent team with their other friends in the sport and enter a competition where they unfortunately lose. Luckily there's a second competition later in the year and they compete in that one too.

Ahiru no sora ranked lower than haikyuu because they have many similarities but ahiru was published first. Nothing. I just find it hilarious that that was the reason.
