Justin, Happy Sunday here in London. Enjoyed both the Corvette Weekly video today and our conversation over the 4th of July holidays. Blue skies, John

Thank You for your input / speculation. I currently have a 23 Z06 - Z07 Amplify Orange Convertible. I spoke to my dealer recently, and was able to obtain a number 1 allocation for the ZR1. “Can’t Wait”

Currently have a high mileage c5 that I'm going to turn into a time attack car. But I'm gonna miss driving on the street. So I'm either gonna look into a c7 zo6 or a C8 stingray, any input on either or for just say daily driving?

Honestly I would have been fine with previous gen engines in the c8. Granted we wouldn't have gotten the 5.5 v8 LT6. FPC engine. But I would have preferred the c8 engine layout with a reduction of weight. If they would have reduced the weight of the 200 to 300 lbs compared to the C7 stingrays 3400 to 3500 lbs. A base stingray at 3100 to 3200 lbs with 455 hp and 465 lb-ft of tq. Would not only be better performance wise but I think most people would have preferred that. A Z06 with 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of tq weighing in at 3300 to 3400 lbs. Same thing with thr ZR1. Weighing roughly the same output and everything. Then once the C9 rolls around, do what Porsche does. Incremental improvements, 495 hp but still weighing 3100 to 3200 lbs. The 5.5 FPC, but due to it being NA then it could weigh the same as the base stingray. Then the new engine for the ZR1. Weighing I'm at 3400 lbs. That would have been my ideal planning for the C8 and C9.

Justin I love your content & have been a big supporter of yours for a while.
But all your videos lately have HATED on the E-Ray way too much in my opinion.
I know in each of the videos you make sure to say something positive about all the models.
But, the way you down talk it makes it sound like it either the E-Ray touched you in a naughty spot or you just had a break up with it lol
Personally, i’ve had several Corvettes just like you have, & I love them all. I’m also HP obsessed lol
The E-Ray isn’t taking the thunder away from the Z. You bash it like you’re running against it in a political race lol

I honestly think that the LT6 has one of the most beautiful sounding engines & Exhaust notes in the entire market, which creates an overall driving experience above what the Eray brings to the table. .

What’s been bugging me is when you’re misinforming others when you say that the Eray is on a totally different level in terms of being a much lower performance & slower car on the street which is just simply not true.

For all intensive purposes, the E-Ray will outperform the Z06 99% of the time anyone is actually driving their car in these 3 categories:
1) driving comfort
2) safety
3) street driving performance (not talking about tracking the car. I would be willing to bet that less than a handful of Z owners actually even regularly TRACK their car…)
The E-Ray has the Z06 beat in every way, EXCEPT for that beautiful symphony that its engine produces and the E-Ray falls short of.
I don’t believe anyone can discount how much that one factor plays in the Overall driving experience. Since each factor is weighted differently for each individuals preference & opinion.
The E-Ray has more readily available HP & Torque during most of the RPM range, due to the electric motor.
Since it’s AWD, traction is NOT an issue hooking up those PS4’s.
E-Ray’s launch with no issues & 0 to minimal tire spin, and you don’t have to worry about feathering the throttle at all! (Unless you’re an electric only mode and you’re trying to prevent the V8 to start up in the back. (If you know, you know lol)
99% of the driving C8 owners will experience & use these cars for, it would be faster driving an E-Ray than a Z06.
Of course there’s a lot more to one’s overall satisfaction with their car other than just how fast it will go.
Personally, I believe the sound that the Z’s LT6 FPC produces, creates a better, overall driving experience, than the E-Ray does…But I’m also a HUGE fan of how the Z sounds…. That’s literally my favorite sounding car that I’ve ever heard (within 4x the comp. price tag)
I mean if people just wanted a superfast car they could always just get a Tesla plaid, if they didn’t care about how it sounded…
With all that said, I would I trade my E-Ray for a comp. Spec Z06, just incase any of you Z owners are interested in swapping 🤣
With all that said, I am still a huge fan of your channel and the content (except for your recent E-Ray commentary lol) I just had to say my peace. Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, of course, but I guess I’m a stickler when it comes to separating facts from feelings.
Like I said, I get it. The Z delivers an overall driving experience that makes you feel a different type of way. I like my toys fast & loud like you do. That flat plane crank sounds better than the upcoming ZR1 does.
All I’m saying is I hope to see some less hate & less spreading of misinformation towards the E-Ray down the line.
I would trade my e-ray In right now for the same spec Z06/Z07 in a heart beat (& would do the same if I owned the upcoming ZR1 too) knowingly ready to make sacrifices for less streetable performance- simply because of how it sounds & makes you feel when driving.
I’ve been saying for the past year or so that I thought the Zora was gona have the LT6 + the front electric motors for the AWD/ electric motor benefits, but if it’s just going to have the e-motor in the front with the new twin turbo set up from the ZR1 ( which is now my updated assumption) then Who knows I might have one of the 1st E-rays that decides to do a motor swap and I’ll throw the LT6 in the back of my car so I can have the best of both worlds😂
By the time the Zora’s full specs get released I’m sure HP tuners or some performance shop out there somewhere will have cracked the codes to allow for a motor swap to happen.
