UPDATE: Texas DPS trooper identified, Blue Alert issued for DeArthur Pinson Jr., accused in shooting

The trooper, identified as Chad Walker by the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association. He was reportedly shot in the head and abdomen. Walker was flown to the hospital where he remains in stable, yet critical condition.

A Blue Alert was issued for DeArthur Pinson Jr., 36, who reportedly shot the trooper at FM 2848 and Highway 84, according to DPS Sgt. Ryan Howard.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
