You are a wonderful artist. Did you list what colors that you used to create this piece?

What a terrific video, both for the advice and for the beauty and artistry. The texture of these oranges that you achieved is outstanding.

As a massive fan of charcoal pencils, I bought these pencils about a year ago just to try something different. I only used them once ever since and was going to bin them soon. You have changed my mind now about these pencils. Guess the teacher appears when the student is ready. Thank you

Fabulous artwork! A few weeks ago I watched a video by Lindsey the Frugal Crafter use inktense pencils to paint a bottle of perfume. So then I decided to get mine out and have a go. It’s great to see artists use supplies they already. One thing I realized from your video is to use the inktense pencils in light layers like watercolors. In the past a mistake I made when I used my inktense pencils and watercolor pencils is that I was coloring with them with a heavy hand, activating with water, but the color was so heavy/saturated I couldn’t blend it with other colors. A very helpful video, thank you.

Whoa…did not predict the realism of this piece…found you through a sample piece of art..then art reviews and now tips. What unexpected depth and sophisticated use of examples for your illustration…literally and figuratively. What a hidden gem you are! 🎉😊 Thank you! I need to take my time with your work as there is much to think about.

Shana, your picture is so realistic looking. Even down to threading on the edge of the towel. I am always in awe of your artwork. I have the 24 set of Inktense Pencils (and Blocks), but I haven't used them other than to swatch them out.

First time... a good stumble onto your video. I just started using watercolor pencils and thinking it may be a good travel go-to. Your demonstration was great... your delivery superb!

Thank you for the tips on these. I haven't used them so subtly like this and other than tip 5, I haven't used them beyond my sketchbook. This is great advice I will mess around with today!

I love my Inktense and always love seeing tutorials and techniques how others use them. A word on your Caran D'ache board: I found it to be way expensive here in Canada, so I ordered a white nylon cutting board from Amazon that cost a fraction of what the name brand board cost. You may want to check that out and mention it to your watchers. It is textured on both sides, but cleans up perfectly and works as a beautiful palette for the Inktense. :) Thanks for the lovely video!

Beautiful picture! You have a wonderful speaking voice, easy to understand and you stay on point and don’t go on and on just to hear yourself speak.

The blue/purple/black combo is what I used when I needed a 'black' watercolor paper to use metallic watercolors on. I had ordered some but it didn't arrive at the same time as my metallic paints and I didn't want to wait! Since the inktense was permanent, I could easily paint over it without it blending into the watercolors. The piece was only about 4" x 5" - anything larger would have been too cumbersome, as far as I'm concerned.

I couldn't get the pallete you mentioned in Australia so i made my own. I got a pallet with a few wells in it and used super glue to put dots in them. Once the glue dries, you have a good rough surface. 😊 works a treat

I haven't used mine nearly enough! Thanks for this video, I'm going to try your techniques. BTW, I got a white cutting board with a slight texture from the Dollar Store, works the same as the expensive Caran d'Ache board.
