UK COVID-19: Three-quarters of England in Tier 4 from TONIGHT

Coronavirus latest: THREE QUARTERS of England will be plunged into Tier 4 from TONIGHT Matt Hancock said today, as he warned we "have to take further action".

Another 20 million people will be thrown into Tier 4, including all of the North East of England, the South West and most of the Midlands.

All of the North-east of England, including Cumbria, Cheshire, Warrington, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Blackpool, and Blackburn with Darwen will be thrown into Tier 4.

Most of the West Midlands and all of the East Midlands, except Rutland will be put into Tier 4.

And large parts of the South West will also be plunged into the toughest measures.

Areas in the South-East who were not already under Tier 4 restrictions, will also be given the tougher rules.

Liverpool and North Yorkshire will both be put under Tier 3 - meaning pubs and restaurants will be forced to close.

Today's announcement means that all of England is living under Tier 3 or Tier 4 lockdown - apart from 2,000 people living on the Isles of Scilly.

Mr Hancock told MPs most new cases are from the new variant, which is as much as 56 per cent more contagious.

I'm more at risk being at work then around my own family. All I have to do is ask if they have been around anyone with symptoms. Who could I trust to tell me if they have been around anyone, my family or customers that really want their Internet.

if there are 20, 000 people in UK hospitals, that's like 10 people in each hospital, if you account for temporary hospitals and the fact so many people have been turfed out of hospital, had appointments cancelled and delayed, treatments pushed back etc, then not only is it less than 10 people with COVID per hospital but to make up for that, there's less of the usual patients. So actually things are pretty calm and this is why we saw the huge influx of hospital staff tik tok video's, which under normal hospital capacity would be impossible. You cant trust what you see on the news. Go to your local hospitals yourselves and see.
