Used car prices are beginning to fall which thankfully means there's some great deals on the used market again. But there's also some hidden gems, really nice cars that have depreciated abnormally fast and are great used values. One such car is the 2017-2018 Genesis G80 and the car's previous name from 2015-2016, the Hyundai Genesis. In this video I discuss prices for these cars and why the Genesis G80 is a hidden gem. Do you agree? Let me know if there's any other hidden gems on the used car market that I should highlight!

I really enjoy this new style of video. I think it would be beneficial, down the line, if you did more comparisons. Just to get any idea of what is the current state of the competitor's used market.

This could be a fun series because it keeps us in the loop of how the market is and shows us what fun cars are out there for a good price without having to do research thanks for doing the leg work Matt very helpful 🙌🏻 keep them coming!

Loved this type of upload! Quick enough to watch during a break or lunch, informative and relevant, and aimed at enthusiasts.

I leased a Genesis HTRAC v6 fully loaded before they changed the name to G80.

Good car, never had a problem.

Their depreciation rates are astounding however.

Same goes for the G90.

This reminds me of the 2017-2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia on the used market pre-pandemic. They were going for under $20k as dealership buybacks. Now they are closer to $30k from the last time I looked them up.

Lots of car youtubers bought showy 911 turbo S's, Mclaren's, etc. but many are dropping so fast in value. They are now trying to sell them back a same price they bought them for and cannot. Good for us on the sidelines with hard, cold cash to pick them up at seriously discounted prices!

Great find! What I like is that many of these deals are still under bumper to bumper warranty, not just drivetrain!

Love this, looking forward to more 👍. These would definitely be a great car for comfort while still having usable infotainment

The problem is the list price can be anywhere from 5k - 10k lower than the purchase price before taxes and registration fees the way dealers add stuff on when you actually go to buy the car.

Salute Matt! These are great cars I’ve had mine for a year. 3.8 awd with all the options, they’re great cars low maintenance and they don’t require premium fuel. Plus you won’t see a bunch of them on the road

I'm looking into getting a G80 Ultimate 5.0L for around 30k from carmax. I had to pay to have the car transferred before I signed the papers. This is my dream car and I'm finally getting one soon, hopefully!

The average price of a new car is $46K is kinda misleading. It doesn't mean that everyone is buying $46000 cars. Because everywhere I look I don't see any of these $46000 cars that everyone's supposed to be buying. That $46000 number means the average price for each manufacturers car fleet. It includes Ferrari's and other $500K cars in the calculations. The $46k is a useless stat.

Seems like a really good deal! its probably just because most regular people these days don't buy sedans. I literally met someone who thought all sedans are from the 70s and they thought suvs are the "new thing". Sometimes its nice when people who know nothing about cars dictate car prices lol.

Love these type of videos and these types of deals. Those looked like local dealers too. I try those type of searches down here in NE Florida on Cars/Autotrader and most of them come up as Carvana which i'm not going to risk at this point.

Hyundai's 5.0 Tao engine is phenomenal. I had a Rspec. What a sleeper!

I love these types of videos, also I like the ones ranked like “the 5 best deals for SUVs right now”.

Really happy to see more videos in general! Really hope it helps bring in the views! I’ll be waiting for your market report on R53 Minis which will hopefully help some more people remember to actually list them! It’s been a long look for a clean one lol.

I'd love to see a comparison between the 5th gen 4runner and the Lexus GX460 (2010 - 2023) on the used market.

When I was cross shopping 5th gen 4runners & GX460's, I noticed you can barely find decent 5th gens around $20k but you can find GX460's around $20k all day and they come with way more features & capability as standard (KDSS, full-time awd, center locker, low range, V8, heated & cooled front seats, power third row, etc. etc.)

Love these videos Matt!

I own a 2018 Genesis G80, 3.8L engine. This is my "dream car" because for me the styling is beautiful, and the engine provides all the power anyone would ever really need. In fact at 70 mph on the highway I get 30+ mpg! The AWD performs well, and the car has 4 drive modes! A very comfortable car to drive with excellent interior space and features. If you can find one in your price range you would be foolish not to buy it!!
