The sovereigns are probably Shirahoshi and Momonosuke, and I don't know what the meaning of that is yet, but it lead me to a different thought:

Did Toki almost fuck up the meeting by sending her kid into the future? I mean, she knew what year to send him to, but him being a kid instead of a fully realized adult very well could have fucked up the awakening of his power, just like Shirahoshi needed to mature. It's only though the brutality of Kaido and the liberation through Luffy that saw him become the person he is now, we was a wuss in the beginning much like Shirahoshi was. And the serendipitous power of Shinobu made him ah least physically ab adult again, but otherwise he'd be a kid and the sea kings wouldn't have accounted for that (he was already born when Roger and Oden overheard them so they were waiting for the sea princess).

Secondly, if this power, whatever it is, is transmitted via bloodline, is Toki's departure the reason Joyboy's attempt at liberation was unsuccessful? Like, clearly Toki was anaware that her kid would be the one to control Zunesha (or at least there is zero indication of that, her stated intention was to keep the Kozuki bloodline alive, nothing to do with the void century mission she had clearly abandoned over love), but was she in fact the key in the timeline she left? Is Joyboy apologizing to the mermaid princess of his time for not finding the sovereign prince of beasts, for being unable to reunite then in his own timeline?

I don't expect this to be the case, if anything the bloodline is via Oden, not her (all the more reason to keep the Kozuki alive, btw). Just a curious thought that came to my head, is all. By trying to ensure the safety of the future but not being able to live it, Toki may have very nearly screwed everything up. And that's just so interesting to me. Road to Hell paved with good intentions, and all that.

I got 40 episodes in and it still sucked. I really dont get the appeal to this one. Its not funny enough to be funny its not edgy enough to be edgy, the story is all over the place and has DBZ syndrome.

No hate if your a fan but ive watched a ton of anime though im not huge into anime. Still gotta say 80s-2000s really killed it.

Evangelion, beserk and fma. Gundum seed, og Digimon, lain, monster, golden boy...i could go on for days, so many master pieces, strange to me how dbz this and fairy tail became so big over the others.
