IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!

GUYS! I've been BEGGING Apple to make a 15 inch MacBook Air for over a year now- Steve Jobs reportedly was thinking about making one back in like 2010, but FINALLY it's happening! Ross Young, Bloomberg, Ming Chi Kuo, they all agree. A 15 inch MacBook is entering production and could launch soon, so today we'll break down the rumors to try to make sense of them!

I wish 3nm M3 would come with a force, but April release of 15" could easily have M2, all proven components, just a bit more battery and literally more air inside for better coolling (delayed throttling). It would just be a good business, people will go crazy for 15" regardless of the M2/M3.
And then there's no rush for new 13", September release with M3 easily, Mac Pro etc for June.

Why would Apple be updating the 13” Air? There has been no report stating it will be updated just that a 15” will be added and it will be a series. It makes more sense to me that the 15” will just be another M2 especially given that the April release has actually been reported.

I think this is more a case of what you’d like to happen rather than what actually will bud.

Would like to see the new M series SOC move to 15-inch MacBook Air. Then want to keep older M series 13-inch MacBook Air design as the budget model even with older SOC.

I just wish it comes before autumn, im going to start CS studies and I need a new mac to replace my 2015 13 inch pro. I’ve noticed the 13 inch screen is a bit too small for displaying code. 15 inches would be perfect size, not too big not too small. Also the bump up to a new nanometer chip would make it totally perfect

Prices in Europe will be even more expensive… I don’t need one myself since I have a 14 inch MBP but seriously it’s better to find deals on M2 or M1 than buying last ones

To be honest with you, I couldn't care less about the chip the 15" comes with. I am excited because the 15" Air will mark my own personal transition to Apple silicon. It will be the first Mac computer I'll ever own. I was tempted on buying a 13" unit last year, but because rumours were already going nuts last year, I decided to wait for the bigger version. Day one preorder for me!

It could mean that it will have M2 and M2 Pro, just like the Mac Mini. That seems more likely than M3 leaving M2 quite incomplete, even more so considering that the upper tier of the M2 can simply be N3 without having to be a new family of Apple Silicon.

I'd love to have one though it's hard to justify for me at this time. I think that a lot of people would be better off with this rather than a MacBook Pro 16.

My money is on this not coming out until June with M3, even if the 15" displays are just ready on the shelf for it. That's my best estimate.
