Tokyo is the biggest city in the world. With Chongqing, that's the population of the entire county and most of it is rural.

Chongqing has weirdly drawn and artificially enormous city limits making “the city” the size of the country of Austria - but in these huge city limits, rural areas, mountain ranges and several non connected smaller and mid size separate towns far away with all the people living outside of metropolitan Chongqing are included in the statistics, which massively inflates the population statistics.

So on paper and via bureaucratic city limits, Chongqing is the biggest city in the world. But in reality (fully interconnected and interlinked urban areas that acts like 1 singular big city) the title goes to Tokyo (Or the Pearl river delta region in Southern China) and in China cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou/Pearl River delta and Beijing are bigger. Chongqing is still an enormous city with 10+ Million people though, just not *that* huge.

Really cool city but it’s extremely loud and traffic is like hell, there are plenty of less populated and equally or even better cities in China and all around Asia.

As the big cities tends to be well known but this city don't have that same kind of recognition yet so large.
