WWE Salvation of Kane (often shortened to WWE SoK and known as Exciting Pro Wrestling 6 in Japan) is a professional wrestling video game released on the PlayStation 2 console (November 2nd, 2004) by THQ and developed by AKI Corporation. It is the sequel to WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain, released in October 2003, and is part of the WWE video game series based on World Wrestling Entertainment's weekly TV series. It is the first WWE video game of the franchise to break free of the "SmackDown!" denomination, as the series broadens it's focus on the WWE promotion as a whole, including it's three brands; RAW, SmackDown! and ECW. It is the first WWE game to involve the promotion's relaunched ECW brand, with it's inception occurring of short notice after Vince McMahon's groundbreaking purchase over the North American Independent Wrestling Circuit, on May 31st, 2004.
