It was just strategically redeployed to special underwater operations exactly as planned.

Ukraine doesn't even have a fleet and they are sinking Russian war ships. This has got to be an embarrassment on another level for Russia.

It's just a special sea operation. The ship is going into submarine mode.

So rather than admit that Ukrainian missiles hit their flagship in the Black Sea, they instead claim their crew was so incompetent, that they couldn't contain an onboard fire, and allowed the fire to ignite its munitions store. Well at least they are admitting the flagship has been damaged, others are reporting it has been sunk. So that is progress I guess. Slava Ukraine.

You don't abandon ship if the ship is just "seriously damaged"

The Russians say the ammunition storage of the ship has exploded. That means the ship is shredded into pieces not just damaged.

Putin: The warship Moskva has not sunk it has simply been reclassified as a new type of submarine and is on a special underwater mission.

Yes I would say sinking fits under the category "seriously damaged".

When your ship is on fire.
Then rolls over on it's side.
When the crew then abandons the ship.

It's safe to conclude that it's not so much "damaged" but rather sunk.

This is like 1000 tanks destroyed at once.
Some new Ukrainian babies will be named "Neptune'. "Hey, Javelin, come meet my friend Neptune".

It's not sunk. It has been "redeployed for special submarine operations" 😁

It shouldn't - and I feel bad about it - but this put a big smile on my face. Glory to Ukraine, from peace-loving NZ!

I believe the lastest reports are indicating that the ship is sinking.

Good job Ukraine👍

It was not a sinking. It was a "special submergible operation"

It has already sunk. 54 crew members fished out of waters (out of 500+)

Russia: “You didn’t sink our ship, we sunk it ourselves”.
Just like how they didn’t retreat from Kyiv, they “redeployed to the east”.

Its been sunk, not just badly damaged. 2 neptune missiles + causing an explosion from all the cruise missiles onboard, no ship can withstand that. Its sunk, and most likely many killed. Explosion huge enough to kill hundeds onboard with very little room to run

So if Russia says there was a fire, ammunition exploded and everyone was evacuated safely, I think we all know that translates to the ship was struck by Ukrainian missiles and there are massive casualties.

There are 2 important factors:
1) there was a stormy weather which helps misiles to stay unseen untill it's to late;
2) this is a new Ukrainian-made misile "Neptun", which was going to get to services in April, accordin to officials half a year ago. So, our (yeah, I'm russian) protect systems even don't know what to expect from it.
Glad that wonderfull city of Odessa, which I have visited with my ukrainian beloved girl, is relatively safe from sea-attacks of putin's Z(omby)-army. Hope this war will stop as soon as possible and my compatriot will understand how cheated they were.
RIP to civilians, freedom to Ukraine, court to all war-criminals.
