It's true. You could think of a task that you know how to do, like driving a screw into a piece of wood for example. You need a screwdriver to do that. AI is essentially an electric drill with a Philips head screwdriver attached to it. Sure, you can do without it. But it is slower.

The point of AI is to help you realize that thought of going from point A to B, but faster. However, you gotta already know what you're doing in the first place. For experienced writers, programmers, or creatives, AI is an excellent tool. But it is not a magic bullet for those who aren't.

All I know is that I can't possibly know everything. If I didn't know that the picture I was trying to reference was a Rembrandt, I'd have to do a "traditional" Google image search first to reveal what it is that I need to succinctly describe within the AI prompt.

It's a trade off. You get the same thing with some effort or multiple trials vs you do have to learn the exact term for the same thing and for every next thing.
