The way you basically erased your bone structure around/above your eyes is so insanely impressive

Fun fact: Snow White was actually inspired by Betty Boop which is why her design and voice sounds like her. They even brought in the artist who drew Betty's design.

For anyone who was wondering why she said “Ain’t you kinda gay” is because back in the day, gay meant happy. So she’s actually saying “ain’t you kinda happy”

The eyebrows are something else. the 1930s eyebrows are so theatrical and they translated that on Boop. Really great makeup!

I'm so happy Betty is finally being recognized. When i was little, I lived in the ghetto and was too poor to afford cartoons. I lived on Durdin Drive, Silsbee Texas. I don't live there anymore luckily lol. But yeah, Betty boop and Popeye were the only cartoons I had. I was literally raised on her. I'm glad she's being recognized.
Edit: I know she's been popular for a while, but not as popular as she is now. When i was growing up, not many people knew of her, but this also could be the fact that I was living in a ghetto town where old fashioned cartoons were not focused on. Also, I know it wasn't necessarily a "good" cartoon due to the racism and sexism. That's not what I was talking about, please don't focus on the negative right now. Let's just focus on the fact that it's an iconic vintage cartoon, k?

Fun fact: The Betty Boop character was based on a real life person, Esther Jones. She was a black jazz singer/flapper from Harlem 🥰

Betty Boop was originally inspired by a black female performer. Fits perfectly. Betty Boop's hair reminds me of the styling of baby hairs today. Beautiful talent in makeup to the creator. <3 <3

Fun fact: Betty Boop was based on a black woman. Her name was Esther Jones. I believe took Paramount to court for stealing her character. She was unable to prove she first preformed “boop boop a-doop” on stage and seeing that baby-talk was relatively common for stage girls, and the claims going against her stating that Helen Kane (the recorded voice of Betty boop) preformed the Betty boop songs before Esther (which was false), Esther lost the lawsuit. She continued to play the character on stage but she made no money from the profits paramount made on Betty boop.

After having learned Betty Boop was originally supposed to be black, I have such extra appreciation for this! I really want a Betty Boop revival cartoon where she is black.
