A short clip from the 1932 cartoon "Boop-Oop-a-Doop" depicting Betty as a circus performer who is propositioned and subsequently assaulted by her sleazy boss. The pre-code Betty Boop cartoons are famous for their brazen sexuality and many of them center around Betty having to escape from the unwanted advances of men, making them an extremely early example of pop culture acknowledging the issue of sexual assault and harassment if even in a humorous way. This recurring theme is part of why many people consider her to be an early feminist icon. That being said it should be noted that Betty very rarely escapes from her pursuers by herself, typically being rescued at the last minute by another character. Never the less, in an era that commonly romanticized the notion of "being pursued" and "women playing hard to get", Betty consistently stood up to cat-callers and pushed back against harassment.

Unlike the backlog of a certain animated mouse, the classic Betty Boop cartoons have never been fully restored or shown much appreciation. Many are only available in low quality and some have been lost or fallen into the public domain. The only official colorization of Betty Boop cartoons was done in the early 70's and was a notoriously rushed process that was outsourced to a small Korean company. The result was a collection of sloppily traced cartoons with missing frames of animations and subpar coloring. This channel was created to catalogue the attempts of an amateur to try and show these classics the love they deserve.

maybe the cartoons were to warn young girls about some dangers of the world. may seem like a fun job at first but now look at the dangers she's in, and yes what he's doing is wrong but we should still educate our children on dangers of some professions and consequences of some innocent actions
