Love is not love for the properties of the object, but for the abyssal X, the "je ne sais quoi", in
the object.

You find that X when a loved one does something that doesn't fit the idea in which you've formed of them and placed them in: a stupid gesture, a nervous tick, a failure,
an evil gaze, etc..

While one can find the same lost partner as to his/her positive features, one cannot recreate the unfathomable X in them.
