And people think the homeless avoid shelters just because they don't want to follow the rules or they want to keep drinking and drugging up. That's funny considering that not only do drugs alcohol and weapons get into maximum security prisons which have way more tough security then homeless shelters but some homeless shelters even become drug hubs and are dangerous. As for the rules... Well let's just say I'm not a child a criminal a drug addict or an alcoholic. in fact I'm an average working joe and a Christian. so why should I have to be refused the ability to live an average life outside of the shelter during the day to sleep there at night just because I'm homeless. How would you feel if you lost a job and all the sudden you were told No late night movie no going out with friends after 6 no glass of wine on a late night date your not allowed to come home after 6pm and once there you can't leave your not allowed to keep most of your possessions etc. (That sounds kinda like a prison actually doesn't it) Let alone how would you feel if you were told your family had to split up you couldn't live together or you can't keep your dog anymore just to name a few reasonable righteous problems the homeless are justified in having with homeless shelters.
