Antibiotic resistant infections are projected to become the leading cause of death worldwide by 2050. Professor Jonathan Iredell and his team at WIMR have revived the use of bacteriophages (a type of virus that attacks bacteria, but not humans) to cure pathogenic bacterial infections.

In this webinar you’ll hear about how samples collected from wastewater in Sydney have accelerated phage development, how phage treatments can be tailored to each individual, and the path forward for establishment of a national phage hub at Westmead.

You’ll also learn about the children already treated with phage therapies at the Westmead Children’s Hospital whose lives have been transformed as a result.
