The YouTube rewind has finally been defeated. 2020 was so terrible that not even the creative teams behind the YouTube Rewind wanted to try and remember any of it. For those of you who don't know the YouTube Rewind is the companies annual year end tribute to creators, certain trends and the biggest moments that defined the platform.

they could just do a montage of all the good stuff that happened this year. I'm personally not a fan of yt rewind but i feel like this would be better than getting popular youtubers to re-enactment a bunch of things that happened this year. ( not like the 2019 one where its a countdown, this one is just a timeline of every good thing that happened)

It seems that a year that so many people relied so heavily on the internet, social media platforms, and in particular YouTube, is an odd time to NOT recognize the creators on the platform. Then to add insult to injury by saying this year was different, but not addressing the massive surge of consumption of content such as seen on this platform. I know I personally have watched more YouTube videos like this one. Before 2020 I did not normally come to YouTube for information/current events/ until I stumbled onto InformOverload, the Potato Queen hooked me in, and I stay for the rest of you. It's been fun to see the changes to your channel, hear about new channels, and see all the people spilling the tea in the spill zone. Thanks, io for all that you do to inform and entertain.

I say don’t do it ever again, it gets worse and worse(except for the 2018 section to animators). Didn’t they start with analyzing what things were popular during the year? That seems better than the other types of cringe

I am actually very disappointed in YouTube rewind. I was expecting something for Black Live Matter like something to remember the victims and how people came together to take a stand....but I guess not

I mean yeah 2020 has been shitty. but there's been some good sprinkled in there as well. I think they should've still continued on since this year marks a decade of them doing it. they could've been really creative with this year's rewind. that's pretty disappointing.
