Rover R8 216 GTi 16v - Part 18 'Will Honda Civic arches fit the Rover R8?'

Part 18Not much action in this one. Just a discussion on whether Honda Civic arch repair panels (1987 to 1991 3 door) will fit the R8 Rover three door shape. The short answer is Yes - they will fit but ONLY after trimming and cutting. The radius and the front vertical 'face' of the wheelarch seems to be the same as the Rovers so in theory - a Honda Civic arch will fit. I'm hoping I won't need to go down this path as my driver's side (offside) arch is solid except the lip where it's spot welded and bonded to the inner arch/wheel well - if you're watching this in the US, a wheel well or wheel house. Whatever it's called, I hope you find it useful. As I explained from the start, these vids are not a 'how to' but rather a vlog on my journey to restore the increasingly rare three door Rover R8 GTi twincam I've been advised that the front wing wheel arch (fenders) of the R8 Rover will also fit but you have to use the opposite corner thus a nearside front arch will fit the rear offside and vice-versa. I haven't confirmed this for myself so do your own research before cutting lumps off your car. Since R8 panels are now getting hard to find, it would be a shame to have to cut up front wings for the arch unless the rest of the panel was unsalvageable.
