When you think of a beverage from France, the first thing that likely comes to mind would be wine or champagne – but cider is also a French specialty.

Normandy, in northern France, is one of Europe’s key regions for producing sparkling cider. There’s even a cider trail laid out which leads past many spots where it’s produced; the Route du Cidre. Euromaxx reporter Meggin Leigh set out on a journey to follow the route and get a taste for herself.

Nothing better than having a presenter who seems to have no idea what they are talking about. I appreciate the editors keeping this part in to confirm this:
Presenter: "Tell me what distinguishes Apple Cider from Calvados?"
Expert: "This is apple brandy, which is totally different than cider... I will advise you to take a small sip first."

There is also Calvados, a kind of apple brandy, that is also produced in Normandy.

Cider without alcohol is not cider, it's just apple juice.
