Amy Williams, a respiratory therapist and the Pulmonary Program Coordinator at Kindred Clear Lake Hospital, looks forward to seeing her patients every day.

She says that one of her favorite things about working in long-term acute care is how you’re really given the time to form relationships with the people you’re helping.

Amy likes to point out that while working in long-term acute care can be challenging due to the medical complexity of the patients, she says that helping those people recover is “always the most rewarding” and “spending time with them every day is what makes a difference." She explains that not only do you treat them as your patient, but you become their friend as well.
