My favorite sanctioned robots of the Mechanicus is the CAT, In short they are very limited ai drones akin to roombas. Used for exploration and when they approach an obstacle they turn ever so slightly and try again.

The Mechanicus tries to cover it up saying stuff like “it’s inherent to train ourselves” but in reality they just love CATs, and love making them

I love the ai that is just chilling with a rogue trader and just pretending to be an Admech robot.


I love ideas of ancient AIs being encountered or found by people. It’s such an interesting concept to me.
