15 or 20 years ago going from Berlin to New York on luftthansa, had good food and champagne just before landing. Regular tourist class. I had two glasses as I recall . Very pleasant waiters as well.

As a german i never flew a german airline. I am pretty happy with easyjet, ryanair, Thai airways, Island air, qatar, and so on.
