Here are some things to note with this
You want to make sure your beds have at least 2 air blocks above them. If they do not, the villagers will not see the beds as accessible and will fail to breed.
Also at the end, you'd likely want to make an adult villager separator, which is just a 1 block tall area for the baby villagers to stay, with a water-logged slab above them. Once they grow up, they will clip into the slab and get pulled up into another water stream, which you can then feed into a minecart transport system or whatever you prefer.

As of 2/21/23, this farm works fully in Minecraft Java Edition. If the babies don't immediately run towards the beds, it's okay because at night they will most likely go towards the beds and be trapped. I also saw a comment that says it's better to put a non-farmland block by the trapdoors. (non-hoed) If does help as it makes there be almost no instances of the babies getting stuck before the trapdoors. Nothing else to say except that. Cya

As of 3/15/23 this does work on bedrock. There’s a few things you have a to do differently though. the dirt in front of the trap door has to be normal dirt for the babies to run towards the beds. and for they will only breed by the amount of beds you have, I expanded the bed room in each direction about 4 blocks and added some more beds. This consistently works for me and they will breed 10+ in minutes.

As of 3/18/23 in 1.19.4 Java, the farm works well. Just make sure both the villagers and the beds have at least two blocks of height above them. Ran into this issue because I decided not to make mines open air. Hope it helps anyone who made it to fit their world aesthetic but didn't work at first!

If you are building this underground, put more than one torch inside the farm villager pit at 4:18. I had a problem where I couldn't plant carrots despite the farmland being properly watered and it was because my light level was at 6. I put some torches around and it fixed the problem!

Works for Java 1.21.4 as of 1-4-24. I built mine underground with 6 breeding villagers in one farm chamber. I put the resident breeders' beds in the back across from the replaceable baby beds, and used the water to throw the babies into a Nether portal. Like others said: (1) make sure light levels are high, (2) all villagers can see and pathfind to the beds, (3) there are more beds than villagers, (4) composters have a block of air above them, and (5) beds have 2 blocks of air above them. Great tutorial!

Such a simple build! The only thing that you should have mentioned was to leave a normal dirt block in front of the trap door otherwise the baby villager won’t be able to go through. (: I also put more beds so I can breed more.

Just so everyone knows, they have to have TWO full blocks above the beds in order to breed. I did not know this and wasted a lot of time, carrots, and bonemeal...

I can confirm this still works in bedrock 1.20 in April 2024. You should probably add a few more beds if you’re looking to set up a villager trading centre, this makes it a lot faster. Works really fast aswell.

They wont stop lmao, easily got 10 for my trading hall for now, and while I was clearing land for an iron farm, I was able to take 12 villagers from that hole and it was still more than I could count just from looking at them. its been a day or two and im pretty sure they're about to start entity cramming

I built it underground, and it did not worked. After a bit of research, I found that the beds, to be valid, have to have 2 empty blocks above (I think it means that if your bed it placed at Y level 0, then Y level 1 and 2 must be clear of any block, even slab, and of course above the 2 blocks length occupied by the bed).
After digging just a bit the ceiling, the farm worked just fine. Some bread stacks to kickstart it, and replaced the carrots by wheat that I believe to be more efficient.
