If I noticed accurately, it looked like part of the bottom plate was installed directly over the hardwood floors? Is this fine to do? I have a wall I want to take out and extend out a bit but that would require either installing the bottom plate over hardwood or cutting out the hardwood to install it on the subfloor. Any advice?

If that new wall was a braced wall what's the best way to connect it to the external wall seeing the top plate is butted against the ceiling linings? Is it a 4.7kn fixing needed I think? By way of nail plate connecting the top plates as per nzs3604, what would be a usable alternative to meet this if required? Cheers

Hey can you help me with a question. Im building a partititon wall in a loft. The wall that i will construct neither land on a ceiling joist and no stud on the adjecent walls. What do you suggest ? Thanks for your time
