Collective Consciousness (EXCELSUS Mix)

Happy Memorial Day! Here's a song celebrating it not really. Read below for the inspiration, or just enjoy the music!

So...where the hell did this come from, right? Well, honestly, I don't know. I just kind of played this game a little bit and started looking up the music, 'cause it was pretty awesome. And then I realized that a lot of the versions on YouTube are ripped directly from the OST discs and don't sound like they do when you actually fight the bosses associated with them.

So I said, "I'll try to make them sound like they do in the battles! Everyone'll appreciate that!" And by everyone, I meant nobody, because I didn't honestly think I was going to be able to do it. After all, music mixing is something that people do with high-tech mixing tables and Garage Band...right?

Turns out, MGRR's music is made in such a way that the instrumental and vocal versions of the track can transition pretty seamlessly into one another. In other words, making this was a lot easier than I thought, and so I played with it until the version you're listening to was born. I had to play through the boss fight a whole lot to get it just right, and watch a ton of videos for the boss, as well. But in the end, it turned out all right, and I figured I'd upload it for everybody to enjoy.

I actually did another mix for "Rules of Nature" already (it was MUCH more difficult), and I might upload that too if this gets some solid reception. Whether or not I make any other mixes in the future is entirely up in the air at this point...but I probably will. Maybe. ;)

...That is, if I don't get a Content ID Match, lol. And by the way...

"Collective Consciousness" was composed by Jamie Christopherson, as a part of the OST for "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance". I claim no ownership of the original works (the vocal nor the instrumental versions), but I do claim responsibility for creating this mix to better represent the boss battle that it accompanies.

...And for those of you wondering if this is going to replace anything on my channel, no, it's not. It's just something I worked on randomly over my little break from YouTube, and I figured it was better than uploading nothing at all, since it was just sitting on my hard drive.

SO DON'T KILL ME PLEASE. xP

If Rules Of Nature is an anthem for the machines of war like the UGs and the Gekkos, then Collective Consciousness is the theme tune of the American Military Industrial Complex itself.

I can't be the only one that thinks of clashing with Excelsus' arm at 3:39 . Literally the most hype part of the song and it only comes on once.

Isn't it funny that the boss before Senator is as advanced a Sehalanthropus in MGS:V in 1984

The started of the song is so smooth and after each stanza it plays again but in a rougher way as if the excelsus is breaking down and starting to malfunction and before the end it plays the beginning but in such a way it doesn't even sound like

excelsus was such a strong metal gear that it had dubstep
but it was still no match for raiden...

Goddamnit, now I'm seeing a fight between a pair of swordsmen while there's a big fight of a demon giant verses a Mecha Warrior that mimic the battle for the two smaller opponents

Who are the easiest ones to fool? Simple.
The ones who think they're too smart to be fooled.
