From National Geographic and Plimsoll Productions comes the thrilling documentary special THE DEVIL’S CLIMB. Follow renowned rock climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell on a 2,600-mile expedition to tackle one of the most daunting challenges of their careers: summiting the infamous Devils Thumb. The Devils Thumb is a sinister tower of ice-plastered granite deep in the wilderness of southeast Alaska and is known as one of the most dangerous mountains in North America. For Alex Honnold, this climb is among the greatest adventures of his life, a testament to his relentless drive to achieve the impossible. For his best friend, Tommy Caldwell, it’s a chance to make a heroic comeback after a career-threatening Achilles injury. The friends undertake an epic journey to the Devils Thumb, traveling by bicycle, sailboat and on foot through the American West, Canada and Alaska. Witness the extraordinary courage and pulse-pounding climbing as the two attempt to accomplish the first-ever, single-day traverse of all five peaks of the Devils Thumb massif – and push their bodies and bond to the absolute limit.

I love how Tommy and Alex look much older than their youthful days, yet they're still setting the limits to what climbers can accomplish. Two real LEGENDS!!

I saw it yesterday. What an absolute sweaty-palms experience. To see them standing on the various super steep and narrow summits of that place.. and the majestic views. Totally underrated I dare say.

I’ve been obsessed with the Devils Thumb since I first read Into the Wild nearly 30 years ago.

Im terrified of heights. I had so much anxiety for the two. Great watch tho. Hope both of these dudes are taking it easy now. No need to do that or anything near that again❤️ 😅💪🏻❤️

Honnald and Caldwell's ascent to the Devil's Thumb is both thrilling and captivating to watch. However, we were left wondering: was their descent considered anti-climatic and therefore, not worthy of inclusion? Justly proud and perhaps over-confident, the men's trek down could have been more treacherous; perhaps fatal, as the climb up. Did they take the same route down, or was there an alternative route? Was their descent accomplished after sunset? Did they spend the night on one of the five peaks? Why was that not included? Surely, they celebrated with the two men 'on the ground' who were part of their team and important to the documentary's production and the climb itself. Why not share those moments with NG's viewers? Should we look for 'Part 2'?

Love the closeup of Tommy (or one of them, anyway) wearing TC Pros (I'm pretty sure?). If there's a shoe named after you, you gotta wear it!

thank you kindly reminding me of adventure and explorer series of books. BOLDLY doing what has not been done is an exceptional task and if DisneyPlus and Hulu differ on what I may watch on DisneyPlus will it be more difficult JACK of MANY TRADES. 🐬

I saw the documentary, it was great, but they never showed how did they climb down? They had little time until sunset. Does anybody know?
