A- Always book thru Cruise line. Example: in March, our Port of Call was cancelled, due to wind and high seas. Fortunately, we booked our excursion thru the Cruise line and they gave us an immediate refund!

We book our excursions to the Cruise line. I understand that it could probably be a little bit more expensive but we'd like having the assurance that since it was booked through the cruise line if something were to go wrong and we are late getting back that the ship won't leave without us.

I'm sorry about the 91 year old who was injuried. I use a scooter occasionally at Disney. I would NEVER sit ON my scooter on a bus without it being strapped down. You shouldn't have to be told this. It's like riding in a car without a seatbelt. It's too bad that someone with the man or the driver did not insist his scooter be strapped properly. Hope he recovers quickly.

A if late getting back to the ship they will wait for you and not leave you stranded.

A-Cruise line only! We were on an excursion in Hawaii, when the tour guide hit a retaining wall HARD. No major injuries, but the bus was no longer drivable. We had to wait for another bus to pick us up, making us miss the all-aboard time. The ship had to wait for us because we booked through the cruise line. If we would have booked through another company, the ship would have left us.

C - Direct, because it almost always provides much better pricing for an exact same or equivalent experience. But we always take into account the timing in port, and add a decent buffer, because we'd hate to be on YouTube as pier runners!

A: cruise line Perhaps more expensive. However, you are guaranteed the ship will not leave should your excursion run late. I will happily pay more for that guarantee!

Usually cruise line can’t risk delays and missing the ship. However in Greece we found bus service at the port to the original Olympic sites for €5 vs the $49 offered by the cruise line and it worked well.

I’ve always done excursions through A- cruise line until my last Australia/NZ cruise with Holland. I tried B-shore excursions group and thoroughly enjoyed myself on 2 of the 4 excursions booked with them. The price was much cheaper, the buses were smaller, and the tour guides were top notch. Simple to book by entering my cruise date and ship and they provided lots of options for each port date. They also adjust for changes in arrival and departure times. Now I will always price and tour compare, selecting the best price for the venues/actives I want.

A - without a doubt…in case of an emergency, the ship will assist with medical issues or a late excursion, the ship with wait..

A- I always book my excursions with the cruise line. I like the guarantee that they will wait for us, at least with Princess, and in the event of a cancellation, they will reimburse the money.

Seriously am I the only person that finds it odd that the ships are shutting down spontaneously and they’re all controlled by computers I don’t think it’s a coincidence at all

A. & B. We used to only book with the cruise line. Until recently, we tried Shore Excursions Group (thanks to the recommendation from this channel), and it worked out great! We had no problems, we saved money, and had a very memorable time in the Southern Caribbean.

B - previously, we booked exclusively with the cruise line, and still do sometimes, but since we now have mobility issues, we use private excursion companies that specialize in accessible excursions.

Depends. If I’m afraid I’d miss the ship than with the ship. If we are in Bermuda and there for 3 days I self tour.

Depends on port. Only once have we been late on an excursion. It was through the cruiseline and we were very late but ship waited for us.
