Here is a standing and squating set up for someone who is in the early stage of recovery or someone who is fearful of knee buckling.

I have a noodle duck taped to the cabinet door just below the knee to prevent the knee from buckling.

If you are a caregiver, it is best to do this with a gait belt that has leg straps on it so that when you use it to assist to standing the belt does not slide up to the chest.
