I believe this is the first real non-binary Transformers character in the shows and comics. No, Acid Storm from Cyberverse being called enby outside of the show isn’t proper representation. This is in front of you, using the pronouns in dialogue, talking about the identity. This is a real step of “we aren’t afraid to do this”. There will be Transformers fans upset, who will whine about the series being “woke”, but EarthSpark didn’t care about them, they cared about us

I'll be honest, as a hardcore transformers fan since idk 7 years ago, i genuinely have no problems with this. Transformers Technically have no gender as they're machines, so them having pronouns changes nothing for me.

I think the most interesting thing here is that, because of how the terrans function, having one as a non-binary character not only makes logical in-universe sense but presents them a fantastic opportunity to possibly explore how non-binary stuff works in a way that isn’t possible in other shows, and also in a way that is almost entirely reliant on dialogue and nothing else

WARNING:ANTI-LGBTQ+ EXAMPLES AHEAD

I watched this video before the episode aired on Nickelodeon. I watched it with my parents and when this scene came on, my first thought was:
'Oh no...'
After the lines were delivered, my dad said in a slightly angry voice:
"I guess that must be the transgender one?"
"Uh huh."
Well it was still anti-LGBTQ+, I was relieved that they didn't throw a bigger fit.
It sucks when you have to unlearn all the homophobia/transphobia that you've been thought. If it wasn’t for the internet, it would've been much later that I realized my parents were anti-LGBTQ+.

I honestly find it hilarious how the exact same people who hated the concept of female transformers because "they're robots so they shouldn't have gender" are now giving out about there being a transformer who identifies as genderless. Talk about contradictory.

Also, As a nonbinary transformers fan, this absolutely made my day. I will do everything I can to get a hold of that Nightshade deluxe whenever it comes out so I can finally have a toy of a non-binary character.
