Oh no, please no.. I think I woke up in a nightmare this morning or maybe in 2008. I remember this film so so fondly. We as a family used to watch it every Christmas eve. A lot of the family isn't around anymore so this is really going to hurt. Another amazing film from my childhood corrupted on the altar of wokeness. Is God punishing us? It seems like He is 😭

Hollywood seems to have no originality anymore, they expect us to watch the same shit over and over again. This movie and Disney remakes are like every other remakes coming out using the same tactics-remake a beloved classic franchise into a soulless ass pull cookie crunch, milk money from fans nostalgia, use a “diverse” cast as a shield for when your movie/show flops it was review bomb by “racists trolls, homophobic bigots, toxic fans”. Hollywood needs to give up because we are not falling for their gimmicks anymore.

Who is this supposed to be for, exactly? People have been able to watch an all-black film version of "The Wizard of Oz" since Hollywood made "The Wiz" back in the 1970s, so that box is ticked already. And I'm sure I saw a documentary once that said Judy Garland's Dorothy from the classic 1939 version of The Wizard of Oz was already a total icon to the gay community.

So the two main "diverse" groups are already perfectly happy with the existing versions. Which just leaves trans. Surely they can't be making this just to tick the trans box? Good luck with that at the box office...

The original movie had the moral lesson that family was important.
These days, it seems the destruction of the family unit is what's being pushed.
In the remake, will Dorothy rescue her 3 male companions from the witch instead of the other way around?
Will Dorothy win the day all by herself with no help from those incompetent men she's traveling with?
When Dorothy wakes up at the end, will she break up the family and leave home to become strong and independent?
