Witness describes moment helicopter crashes into luxury Cairns hotel

'It just came tearing along here,' says a witness who watched as a helicopter crashed into the luxury Double Tree by Hilton hotel in Cairns, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Queensland police has confirmed the pilot died at the scene.
