I grew up in a bluegrass family that played the Opry once in around 1955. Benton Brothers. My uncles. My uncle, still living has one of Lester Flatts 1946 Martin D28s. Saw it again last week. Looks brand new. Marty Robbins is one of my favorites of all time. Ronny does a great job singing El Paso.

I loved Marty Robbins. I saw him at Mockingbird Hill in Indiana when I was about 5 years old. I’m 68 now. My daddy looked a lot like Marty. So handsome and what a voice. You are missed. I still play your music.

Marty was an amazing entertainer, one of the best. There is not another entertainer like it hit notes like Marty Robbins.. especially when it came to sing Hawaiian music there was no one else like him. I loved all his music.

Marty was my favorite country singer ever and I’ve seen many of them. I still have his albums from 1972.
