A love theme doesn't have to be big and sweeping. It just has to capture the mood. This captures the mood of two people's feelings and their inability to express them.

I really don't get how a lot of people dislike the film.
I honestly enjoyed watching it when I was a freshman in college especially the ending scene.
The mood of the movie makes me think of my high school days, how good life was and also the dumb decisions I made with my friends. I don't know what went wrong but life went downhill when I got to college. I wish I can relive my senior high days.
