New Methods for Endogeneity

In this third session of the 2022 SMS Research Methods Community Doctoral and Junior Faculty Consortium, Evan Starr (University of Maryland), Chris Rider (University of Michigan), and Sarah Wolfolds (Cornell) discuss how the credibility revolution in strategy emphasizes the importance of research design in answering causal questions. They describe methods to assess the sensitivity of estimates to violations of identifying assumptions in instrumental variables, differences in differences, and potential omitted variables.
