I did this with VBA for my inventory listing of over 2500 items, but I much prefer this way of just using a formula. How do I get rid of the all the 0's that show in the search results when there's a blank cell in the referenced table?

I apply formatting via conditional formatting so I don't have a bunch of distracting lines, and I can format numeric cells properly (though the numeric formatting can just be applied to the column(s) to make it simpler).

Now to make it work "as you type" (I've only ever done this with VBA before, but it's been a while). Wish Excel provided a slightly more robust event model, especially a "before" picture of a change. Sometimes you just need to correct a mistake that isn't possible with Ctrl-Z
