Q&A: How do I get a file out of quarantine in Microsoft Defender?

Every now and then Microsoft Defender will erroneously flag a file that's actually safe as dangerous, and quarantine it.

I see no restore button for my false positive, there are no buttons that say restore

Defender notified me that it has quarantined a "trojan" this morning. No details of the file in question were provided other than that it was on my Desktop. My protection history, however, says that there are no recent items. The notification is dated today. Any idea why this might be? Everything else I have managed to look u so far has the same advice as your video, which is also the first thing I did before I even looked online...

i have the issue where defender does not quarintine anything it doscovers it just removes it and lets me know that a threat was found, and even tho i go in and select allow on device the file is still gone, not quarintined and i have to re-download

Dude I hate microsoft anti virus defender it says some of the virus is incompletely fixed, aka means its not fully been removed and theres no option to full remove the virus??? omg so they really want my computer to be taken over or what??? they dont even let me turn on realtime protection??!! what actual f***

no help at all... in the defender app there is a file and in the settings it isnt shown as "quarantine" so this video is complete waste of time.

By removing the file from Quarantine i play the game 2 to 3 days.After that the firewall, again puts the file there and i have to do this process all over.Can you give me some information about fixing this? Or i have to just do it, if i want to play particularly this game? I appreciate your help.

lol he goes about it in such a dragged out way and never expains where the files are stored on pc its simple to click on restore in 2 steps he makes no damn sense but to drag it out to something long and bullshit
