This video examines the settlement value of nursing home lawsuits in Maryland.

Our law firm, Miller & Zois, handles wrongful death cases involving nursing home negligence. Nursing home cases are often the most egregious malpractice cases our lawyers see. Doctors make some mistakes that are surprising. But nursing homes do awful, stupid things that kill people, mistakes that your kids with no experience in health care would not make. It is just awful. We have a lot of cases where proving negligence is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Our firm has averaged between $300,000 and $750,000. Why are these not higher? The value of nursing home cases is limited by Maryland's cap on noneconomic damages in malpractice cases.

As I talk about in this video, nursing homes think the most they should ever have to pay in a wrongful death nursing home case is $250,000. This is the going rate, they tell us. Well, that is not the going rate for my firm. Or there is going to be a trial.

Learn about the factors that impact the value of Maryland nursing home lawsuits, including how the specific Maryland county impacts trial and settlement value.

The problem with all the Nursing home lawyers they only want to pursue a case if there is permanent injury or death well that's a little frickin late so as far as I'm concerned their useless I have contacted numerous law firms and that is the mentality of all of them their not interested in pursuing neglect so I guess I have to let my loved one die before they take an interest what a shame it were their loved one I bet they would feel differently

I've filed s complaint with A.P.S., MPH, and the Attorney General office for the negligence pre death and suspicious death of my brother in Westminster Nursing home 2/9/24 he passed away. 3 attorneys said they would take the case, after I sent the evidence, the E.D. correspondence admitting their error, they said they wouldn't take the case. Please help me get #Justice4JamesnJaleah. Please. The nursing home hid the guardianship paperwork from me, finally received 1/29/24 than my brother died. I have videos, correspondence and more. I am the PR over his estate, the inspector for MPH has yet to follow up on their inspection and evidence i submitted. My last correspondence is 5/10/24 with all depts. No one has responded.
