I once held the original 12" Single (Motown) of this song in my hand at a record shop in Quebec City back in 1981. The timing was something like 4 seconds longer than the album cut - there was a bar or two of empty drums at the intro. The flip side was I'm Coming Out, I think... I forget now if Coming had its own single... Anyway, I did not buy it. Thanks for this version - I love it.
