I never thought I'd say this, but I'm in love with a camera <3

Very smart that you guys managed to keep the form factor the same so that all of our current HD Hero equipment will still work with this new body. Will definitely be picked a couple of these up when they're available as camera only.

12/24/2015 still the best overall GOPRO hero. Now that we're up to the hero 4. For most humans on earth, this has and will do everything you want. Add what you want, with bac-paks. dont add if you want super battery power.

STILL THE BEST

@yz250fstarcross We use the 16GB. 16GB get about as much video as you're going to get from a day or riding, skiing, etc. If you're going to be filming all-day or for production uses, then we recommend you get a couple of 16GBs. That way you can be off-loading one while you're recording on the other. And if you lose one, you still have one. Just remember to go with the Class 10 cards. They seem to work better in certain cases, such as the camera burst mode (10 frame/sec stills)

You have eliminated any issues I would have had.
I was going to buy a new guitar, but I am now getting on of these!

@mikeyrocks360 You can purchase the LCD back panel from GoPro. It works really well, but you don't always need it... so without it, the HERO2 can be lighter, less expensive, and still have the option of a separate viewer/LCD panel.

how much recording space do you have with a 16GB sd card

Good to know a new GoPro came out right after I bought the 1080p GoPro..

@ringmaster012 We stick with 1080 / 30 fps for - action sports - at 170 FOV. That way you get everything and at the highest res. The smaller FOV settings are actually "crops" so you're not actually getting the effects of a zoom lens, just a cropped image. For slow mo, we use 60 fps at 720.

I received mine last week ( HumbleOutdoors $270 w/free battery)

So impressed with this unit, mounted on my Mountain bike, the Hero2 gave me studio like resolution. Watch out Warren Miller this shred season!
