Respectfully, could not disagree more regarding the sound quality of the original airpods pro vs the Galaxy Buds Pro. Saying the airpods pro sound better is a bit of a hot take. The original Galaxy Buds Pro sound clearly better than the Airpods Pro (that was my experience and the feedback from most other reviewers) across the entire frequency range. I'll need to try the new airpods pro but these would have needed to have had an enormous upgrade to sound better than the Galaxy Buds Pro.

Nobody ever talks about the looks ... I find the apple airpods as good as they may be horribly ugly ... They should start choosing different colors ... That white is just hideous ...

I think you make a good point about battery life, I think total battery is what’s important and all I usually worry about. If the case is charged I’m good to go, I don’t need to worry about the headphone dying because they charge up so damn fast in the case that a little break is enough to get another great charge out of them.

I think any buds that are not battery repairable should be criticised and those companies should be shamed for charging nearly $400 AUD for something that in a few years will be thrown away just to give us the privilege of buying them again. Not good enough our wallet and the environment deserve better. Apple can promote that they recycle aluminium and glass all they want. We omitted chargers to save on the carbon footprint but here is a subculture c to lightning cable oh you don’t have that charger we never gave those out prior. Call them out. It’s not good enough. Features are not all that really matters.

I think you missed a good point that is worth mentioning. The pixel buds have multi point connection which is a game changer. I have a work iPhone and a personal android phone. Having the ability to switch between the two phones on the fly is everything I've ever wanted. I no longer need to carry airpods and galaxy buds for phone calls in the office.

Phil, can we get you or Caleb to do a comparison video of airpods+apple tv vs similarly priced sound bars for movie watching?

A ~$450 tier (apple tv + 1 pair of airpods) comparing atmos/spatial audio performance and a ~$700 tier (apple tv + 2pairs of airpods) for overall performance (there's no spatial audio for multiple airpods at the same time on Apple TV)

It does sound like the budget tier is where the real fight would be at, and something the solo movie watchers would be very interested in.

If you are a pixel 7 pro user, buy pixel buds. because airpods are not compatible. they stop after a minute.

Edit- they have bud-specific videos up from a month ago on the Samsungs and Pixel buds that go more in depth, I missed the "go check out all our earlier review for more info" call out if they did it.

I saw you switch phones in the video, but you might wanna explicitly mention that for people not watching the video the whole time.
And you oughta mention codec compatibility, like how Samsung has a proprietary codec called "Scalable" that is only available on Samsung phones, but that they also support another high quality codec, LDAC which will work on more phones, but consumers should check for compatibility.
And that pixel buds and airpods just use AAC.

As someone seeing these videos because I subscribed to your TV reviews with Caleb, I want more details.
