I think Biden's initial pledge not to pardon his son was based on a set of assumptions that--we have all seen--are being thrown out the window. The times have changed, and not for the good. It would be ridiculous of Biden to cling to the old (and better) ways, leaving his son in jeopardy, when the times have changed and peoples' ethics have shifted. Biden was doubly right. He was right for saying he would not pardon his son, because that was under one set of assumptions about our politics. And he was right about pardoning his son, because he is now (I'm sure, regretfully) seeing & grasping the reality of today's politics.

Everybody mad about this but not Trump pardoning cronies/donors/criminals who are loyal to him. I’m sure he’ll try and pardon himself and they’ll be okay with it.
