Hopefully, the 50 series cards will support H.266 (VVC) with EVC encoding. Because H.266 needs all the help it can get concerning the encode speed.

It's a shame that they still aren't ditching the faulty power cables.

Jay looks much better here than he did on the racing rig vid yesterday. All the best to Jay and the team, keep on keepin' on Jay!

Similar to their approach with the 20 series, they initially overpriced the 20 series cards and later introduced the more reasonably priced 20 Super versions, offering better value for performance. I'm curious to see if the 50 series will match the 30 series in terms of performance relative to price.

At least a little win finally with slightly more performance / slightly less money. For someone like me that's been holding out for a GPU to replace my 1070, this is good news.

4070 ti super sounds great, sounds like a perfect upgrade from a 1080 ti

I'm curious to see what the difference is going to be between the 4070ti and the ti super

I switched to AMD with a Radeon 7900XTX.... and I'm pretty happy compared to my RTX3080 for 4K gaming. I dont really care about ray tracing so... My last AMD was way back with a 4870 1Gb :-P

I can understand that people who bought the 4080 a few months back are pissed off right now, I also have the 4080, I fortunately haven't bought it just a few months back but over a year ago, so that means that I have to 40 series already a whole year, buying a new 40 series card also means that you're much closer to the new launch to the 50 series, so it doesn't really feel like wasted my money, because I've bought it for having the 40 series as the latest one for a much longer time, so technically the money is not wasted. The only thing that I'm a bit concerned about is that I hope the drivers for the old 4080 won't get worse now because they won't pay as much attention to it anymore since that card technically doesn't exist anymore...

Oh, I forgot something: NVIDIA should also make an "RTX 4090 non-melting-plug" version that replaces the 4090 for $300 cheaper, that would be a great launch too

Jay, when you do the review please include ACC, very few include a simulator.

And here's me having ordered a 4080 a few days ago. HECK.

This just confirms they are charging way more than they could for the older cards

thanks for all you do Jay. Doesn't 😮realky bother me as I probably won't be upgrading for awhile I love my 7800xt for the most part.

Yeah...I'll be sticking with my 3080 ti. I Paid around $1200 CAD for it about a year ago. Why on earth is it so much faster in terms of memory subsystem performance? It's a bit of a power hog, but it still beats the 4080 super by around 200 GB/sec.

I'm still hanging onto my RX 6800XT. Cyberpunk and BG3 seem to run fine on it at 2K.

ive been looking at 3080 12gb cards to upgrade from my 1080 but theyre still sitting at about $480+ used so that 4070 Super seems somewhat appealing at least right now. We'll see after 3rd party reviews are out.

Glad I'm still on my 3080 and not a seriously considering the 4080 Super to better drive my super ultrawide monitor.
