This Week in Volcano News; Volcanic Tsunami Strikes, Taal Erupts

This week, a tsunami was generated due to the movement of magma at Japan's Sumisujima volcano. Elsewhere, in Iceland, magma was confirmed to be intruding underneath the Askja volcano. In the Philippines, the Taal volcano erupted 8 times during the last week, its most significant activity during the last 2 months. And, in Indonesia, the Arjuno-Welirang volcano produced an unusual earthquake swarm. This video will discuss these stories and list the 48 volcanoes which are actively erupting around the planet.

How do you manage to comb through worldwide tremor data to locate volcanic signatures? That seems like an extremely time consuming task. Is data all from USGS or other sources?

I really liked tagaytay, was my honeymoon 😊told her I would be good if she would get me to and on taal, $10usd got me on just south of laurel, went to skyranch, people park in the sky, picnic grove, buildings in taal, and a motorbike ride up the mountainous cliffs from laurel to west of tagaytay- loved it

Looking at the crater lakes on Askja, the smaller one appears to be about the same color as the lake that formed on Kilauea a few years back. There must be quite a bit of dissolved gases in that water!
