Good idea. But you could also use a bread-bag plastic closure. They're so cheap and readily available that you won't care if you lose a dozen. And if you cut the notch out of the back edge, you can use the front circular part to clip to a pole or another tool on your fly stand, so you won't lose it at all.

Nice, I use an old rod guide with the feet bent parallel, I made it to separate fibers and have found many uses for it since, especially when dubbing odd fibers, but will be adding this tool {I have a blue ice guitar pick that will look very nice beside the gold Orvis finish on some of my tools}.

One could even file a V shaped notch in a magnetic coin and store it on a small magnet attached to a light, vice, or whatever...
