Man City have a NEW formation. But what are its strengths, weaknesses, and how is it getting the most out of City's players?

In this post-match analysis, I focus on the 2-0 game against Everton, and how this tactical tweak ultimately won Man City the game.

This is why i'd prefer Grealish over Doku with this formation, Grealish is strong with the ball and not taking many risk

yeah the issue City have currently is that all our RW are some of our best midfielders (Foden and Bernardo) and they are needed at the middle especiallly with KDB being rotated because of his injury and Gundogan leaving. Doku was supposed to be a RW but he weirdly look better on the left which means we have excess LW in Grealish while Bobb is too young

He played this same formation at Bayern with Alaba and Lahm as inverted fullbacks and met the same transition problems, Ange has played it this season and Spurs have been vulnerable to high quality transition chances too.

I really appreciate the quality of this video.
I haven't seen anybody truly break down a system the way you have here, I look forward to more from your channel.

I think it would be amazing if you could analyze leverkusen too.

Pep is the best honestly, Akanji started player that position from the 3rd match this season. Proving once again that if you are ready to learn under Pep, he can replace anybody.

This 2-3-4-1 could work really well with a 3 of Stones, Kimmich and Rodri

I want one more cdm so rodri can be free to go up and attack and not worry sbout getting hit with counter 😅

Nice video. I still think that walker should be the one guarding against counters. That is where he is most useful. If I had to gamble on who I should let have the ball as the opposition, I would let walker and Gvardiol have it un wide spaces

This is why last year’s 3-2-5 was deadly in the latter part of the season bcz the midfield box of 4 was constantly overloading the opponent’s midfield and half spaces while the back 3 in dias ake and akanji took care of transitions and defensive threats . Also, stones’ ability on the ball does make him a better option to play in the midfield with rodri rather than walker . However sadly this year we lost gundo who had quite an impact with his ball carrying ability and runs off the ball . Hes the type of midfielder who knows when to hold the ball and when to accelerate tempo and him and kdb were deadly but now and kdb can do it and so we need another midfielder like gundo ( very hard to find sadly )

I like your content man, and I do agree, Man city is become more defensive at the expense of creativity. We'll have to see how it works in line with the upcoming matches or if Pep will change the formation again

I’d be interested to see how Ange’s use of the attacking 2-3-5 compares to Pep’s use of it!
