This is massively oversimplifying the idea but the way I’ve always seen it is you want the opposition running at you before you make a pass. You want them running at you in certain parts of the pitch which will create better opportunities, and passing the ball is the only way to move them. No such thing as too many passes if you have the vision and memorize the tempo. The chances will come. A perfect example is De Bruyne’s second goal against Palace

So many words, oversymplifying a concept and still not tell us anything 😂😂

This video didn’t clearly connect the stadium atmosphere to the 1000-pass rule. The stadium atmosphere parts of it may as well have been edited out.

Move the ball to move the player. You aren't moving the ball for the sake of moving it, you have a purpose in doing so. You get a defender out of position to open space for where you want the ball to really go.

I tought the reason was to bore the people in the stadium so they can't cheer or anything

What a tactical genius, overcoming the trials of such a difficult european draw against giants like Copenhagen

So you didn’t bother to expand on Copenhagen or what and why the 1000 pass rule exists?

You gotta pass it 1000 times before you can add 1 moment of excitement to any game of football.

Repetition makes perfect. What's surprising is that not every manager does this

The funny thing is that Nathan Ake scored in that game

Screw these tactics, 442 long ball is the best football

I know it's smart. I know technical. I know it's how football should be played. But it's just so boring most times. It can be entertaining like Tiki taka Barca where it was 1 and 2 touch rapid, intelligent passes, but usually it's so slow and boring

How is Pep ruining football? How is Man City and Pep ball is boring ? How Pep negate individual creativity? This is crazy .Some people on here don't seemed to understand beautiful football, some people on here liked the old and out-dated English methods of long balls over the top and players always loosing the ball. So how Pep football is boring?? He installed ball playing sweeper keeper in Ederson and Ortega, these 2 are simple keepers yet they are better than most outfield players in the Premier League, so how is this boring ? People must watch clips of Ederson playing in the middlefield? How is this boring, i have never seen a keeper done this before. Whats about false 9 like Messi and attacking forward like Haaland? Whats about ball playing central defenders like Pique, Puyol, John Stones, Akanji, Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias? Whats about inverted full backs like John Stones, Gvardiol and Akanji? None of these players were well known, Akanji was bought for 15 million. Is that money talk? Is that boring football? Whats about the 3 Ps ? Is that boring ?? Pep and Man City is the best and greatest football team I ever see here in England and the UK as a whole. Pep and Man City football is so profound and influential on the English game that even the English under 21 youth team plays like Man City attacking and free flowing football and beating other European teams 7 nil and 6 nil. So how Pep ball is boring? Man City have demolished all teams in England 4 nil, 5 nil, 2 nil and 3 nil, even 6 nil.

John stones is a master of the bounce pass city like to use to pull players into space to exploit what’s left behind

This video explained… absolutely nothing. What’s the connection between the 1000-pass rule and Copenhagen’s atmosphere?
